About Chris Bristow

Chris Bristow, a British driver born in 1937, competed in the World Championship in 1959 and 1960, making four Grand Prix starts. He was one of the youngest British drivers on the grid at the time, debuting at twenty-one.

His first season was spent in a Cooper-Borgward, an unusual engine combination among the predominantly Climax-powered Cooper runners, before he switched to Cooper-Climax machinery for 1960.

His four starts brought no championship points, and his record closes with the 1960 season. Bristow's brief career came right at the turning point when British rear-engined cars were taking over Grand Prix racing.
