Tommy Byrne

Tommy Byrne, an Irish driver born in 1958, made two World Championship starts, both in the 1982 season with the Theodore team at the age of twenty-four. Neither outing brought points, and his Formula 1 career was confined to that single year. He remains one of the few Irish drivers to have started a World Championship Grand Prix, his brief spell coming amid the crowded and fiercely competitive grids of the early 1980s.
