Anthony Foyt

Anthony Foyt, an American driver born in 1935, appears in the Formula 1 record books through the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the World Championship from 1950 to 1960. He made three championship starts, in 1958, 1959 and 1960.

His first two appearances came at the wheel of Kuzma machinery, before a switch to a Kurtis Kraft for the 1960 race, the last year in which Indianapolis formed part of the Formula 1 calendar. None of the three outings yielded championship points.

Foyt's World Championship record therefore closes at three starts without a point — a small statistical footprint left in Formula 1's books by the Indianapolis connection at the end of the 1950s.
