George Amick

George Amick, an American born in 1924, is credited with a single World Championship start, made in 1958 at the Indianapolis 500 — the race that counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960. Driving an Epperly, he made that one appearance count emphatically.

His outing produced a podium finish and six championship points, enough to be classified fifteenth in the 1958 World Championship despite starting just once. Few drivers in the championship's history have converted a solitary start into a podium, which makes Amick's brief statistical record a distinctive one.
