About Jim McWithey
Jim McWithey was an American driver whose two World Championship starts came at the Indianapolis 500, the race that counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960. Born in 1927, he appeared in the final two seasons of that arrangement, driving a Kurtis Kraft in 1959 and an Epperly in 1960.
Neither outing produced championship points, and McWithey was unclassified in the standings both years, but his back-to-back appearances place him among the last of the Indianapolis competitors to feature in the Formula 1 record books.
