Tiago Monteiro

Tiago Monteiro, a Portuguese driver born in 1976, made thirty-seven Formula 1 starts across the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He debuted with Jordan and stayed with the operation as it became MF1 and later raced under the Spyker MF1 name.

His rookie season in 2005 was by far his most productive: seven championship points and a podium finish, results that placed him sixteenth in the drivers' standings. A podium for the Jordan team in its final years was a conspicuous result for one of the grid's smaller outfits.

The 2006 campaign with MF1 brought no further points, and he was classified twenty-first before his Formula 1 career concluded at the season's end.

All of Monteiro's scoring, including his single podium, was concentrated in his debut year, making his two-season career a study in contrast between a headline-grabbing first season and a quiet second.
