About Len Sutton
Len Sutton, an American driver born in 1925, made three World Championship starts between 1958 and 1960. Each of his appearances came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960, placing him among the American oval-racing specialists who feature in the championship's early records.
He drove a different car each year: a Kurtis Kraft in 1958, a Lesovsky in 1959 and a Watson in 1960, all products of the American chassis builders that dominated Indianapolis in that era.
None of the three starts brought championship points, and with the Indianapolis 500 leaving the World Championship after 1960, Sutton's Formula 1 record closed at those three appearances.
