The Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello is a fast, flowing permanent circuit set in the beautiful Tuscan hills north of Florence, Italy. Owned by Ferrari, who use it extensively for testing, it had long been admired by drivers as one of the finest tracks in the world, even though it had never hosted a round of the Formula 1 World Championship.

That changed in 2020, when the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic forced Formula 1 to rebuild its calendar around European venues. Mugello was added to the schedule as host of the inaugural Tuscan Grand Prix, finally giving the celebrated circuit its place on the championship stage and coinciding with Ferrari's 1000th Grand Prix.

The race lived up to the track's high-speed reputation, producing a dramatic and incident-filled event. While Mugello's appearance proved to be a one-off, the weekend confirmed the circuit's status as one of the great drivers' challenges in modern motorsport.
