About Jaime Alguersuari
Jaime Alguersuari, a Spanish driver born in 1990, competed in Formula 1 from 2009 to 2011, making all 46 of his starts for Toro Rosso. He debuted in the 2009 season at just 19 years of age, an unusually young age at which to reach the World Championship.
His rookie part-season brought no points and a 24th-place classification, but his trajectory thereafter was steadily upward. In 2010 he scored five points to finish nineteenth in the standings, and in 2011 he took a substantial step forward with 26 points and fourteenth place in the championship.
That 2011 campaign, which accounted for the bulk of his 31 career points, proved to be his last in Formula 1. His three-season record with a single team shows a young driver improving each year, with the final season standing clearly as his best.
