About Toro Rosso
Scuderia Toro Rosso was created when Red Bull bought the Minardi team and rebranded it for 2006, establishing the energy-drink company's second, junior Formula 1 squad. Based at the historic Faenza factory in Italy, its role was to blood and develop young drivers for the senior Red Bull team.
Toro Rosso's most famous moment came at the 2008 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, where a young Sebastian Vettel took a sensational maiden victory in wet conditions, the first win for both the team and the driver, and at the time made Vettel the youngest Grand Prix winner in history. The team scored a second shock win with Pierre Gasly at Monza in 2019.
For 2020 the squad was rebranded as AlphaTauri, continuing its role within the Red Bull structure.
