About Don Branson
Don Branson, an American driver born in 1920, made two World Championship starts in 1959 and 1960, both in Phillips machinery at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960. His second appearance was the more successful: in 1960 he scored three points, enough to be classified twenty-first in that year's championship standings. Like many American oval-racing specialists, his Formula 1 statistics stem entirely from Indianapolis, where he arrived as a driver already in his late thirties.
