Gianmaria Bruni

Gianmaria Bruni, an Italian driver born in 1981, spent one season in Formula 1, driving for Minardi in 2004 and starting eighteen Grands Prix at the age of twenty-two.

Minardi occupied the back of the grid that year, and Bruni's campaign brought no championship points, leaving him classified twenty-fifth in the drivers' standings. Under the scoring system of the time, which paid points only to the top eight, the team's machinery offered little realistic prospect of scoring.

He completed the full season — eighteen starts represented a complete campaign in 2004 — before his Formula 1 career ended with the year.

Bruni's single-season record with a single team is characteristic of the Minardi drives of the early 2000s, which gave young drivers a full year of Grand Prix experience even when the results sheet showed little reward.
