About Minardi
Minardi was the ultimate Formula 1 underdog, a small Italian team from Faenza that spent 21 seasons fighting at the back of the grid on shoestring budgets, and won the hearts of fans the world over for doing so.
Founded by Giancarlo Minardi, the team never had the resources to challenge for wins, scoring points only rarely, but it earned enormous respect as a proving ground for talent. Future stars including Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber and Jarno Trulli made their Formula 1 debuts in Minardi's cars.
In 2005 the team was bought by Red Bull and rebranded as Toro Rosso, which would later evolve into AlphaTauri and then RB, meaning Minardi's spirit endures on the modern grid.
