Maria de Filippis

Maria de Filippis, an Italian driver born in 1926, made three World Championship starts in 1958, all at the wheel of a Maserati.

Her single championship season came in the era of front-engined Grand Prix cars, and the privately run Maserati machinery gave her little chance of challenging for points. She ended the year unclassified in the drivers' standings.

De Filippis's Formula 1 record closes at three starts with no points, but her presence on Grand Prix grids in the late 1950s remains a distinctive entry in the championship's early history.
