About Gene Force
Gene Force, an American driver born in 1916, made two World Championship starts, both at the Indianapolis 500 during the years from 1950 to 1960 when the race counted toward the Formula 1 championship. Unusually, his two appearances came nine years apart, in 1951 and 1960.
On both occasions he drove a Kurtis Kraft, and neither start produced championship points. His 1960 outing came in the final year of the Indianapolis 500's inclusion on the Formula 1 calendar, closing one of the most widely spaced two-start careers in the championship's records.
