About Bill Holland
Bill Holland, an American driver born in 1907, made two World Championship starts, both at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960.
His first appearance, driving a Deidt in 1950, was outstanding: a podium finish worth six points, placing him seventh in the inaugural World Championship standings. He returned in a Kurtis Kraft in 1953 but added nothing further. That 1950 result means Holland ended his brief championship career with a podium from just two starts.
