About Taki Inoue
Taki Inoue, a Japanese driver born in 1963, competed in Formula 1 in 1994 and 1995, making eighteen Grand Prix starts in total. He arrived in the World Championship at thirty-one, an unusually late debut by the standards of the 1990s.
His first appearance came in 1994 with Simtek, one of the small independent teams that populated the back of the grid in that period. For 1995 he moved to Footwork, where he contested his only full campaign.
Neither season brought championship points, and Inoue was never classified in the final drivers' standings. Both Simtek and Footwork were modestly resourced outfits, and his eighteen starts were spent well away from the sharp end of the field. His Formula 1 career concluded at the end of the 1995 season, after two years with two different teams and a pointless, if persistent, run at the back of the pack.
