Joe Kelly

Joe Kelly, an Irish driver born in 1913, made two World Championship starts, in 1950 and 1951, driving Alta machinery in both. He was in his late thirties when the championship began and took part in its very first season.

Alta was a small British constructor whose cars rarely troubled the front of the field, and Kelly's two appearances in the championship's opening years brought no points. Those two starts remain his complete Formula 1 record.
