About Mike Magill
Mike Magill, an American driver born in 1920, made three World Championship starts between 1957 and 1959. As with most American entries of the decade, these came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960.
He drove Kurtis Kraft machinery in 1957 and 1958 before switching to a Sutton chassis for his final appearance in 1959. None of the three outings brought championship points.
Magill's record — three starts across three consecutive years, with two American chassis builders — is typical of the Indianapolis regulars whose names entered the Formula 1 statistics through the race's decade-long inclusion in the championship.
