Johnny Mantz

Johnny Mantz, an American driver born in 1918, is credited with a single World Championship start, made in 1953 with a Kurtis Kraft. His appearance came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960.

The start brought no championship points, and Mantz's name does not appear in the World Championship records again — one of the many Indianapolis competitors whose brush with Formula 1 lasted a single event.
