Tarso Marques

Tarso Marques, a Brazilian driver born in 1976, made 25 Formula 1 starts, every one of them for Minardi, in a career split into two distinct spells.

He first appeared for the Italian team in 1996, aged just 20, and continued with them in 1997. Neither campaign brought points, and his results give little sign that the machinery ever allowed him near the scoring positions.

After three seasons away from the championship, Marques returned to the same team in 2001 for a final stint, which likewise ended without a score.

His career total of 25 starts across three seasons, without points, podiums or poles, is largely a reflection of the machinery available to him: Minardi in that era gave young drivers a foothold in Formula 1, but rarely the means to trouble the scorers.
