About Fritz d'Orey
Fritz d'Orey, a Brazilian driver born in 1938, made three World Championship starts during the 1959 season, at the age of 21.
He raced Maserati machinery for most of his brief campaign and was also associated with the small Tec-Mec concern, an offshoot of the Maserati design lineage. None of his three starts produced points.
D'Orey was one of the earliest Brazilian drivers to appear in the World Championship, more than a decade before his countrymen became a regular presence at the front of the grid, and 1959 remained his only season in Formula 1.
