Nello Pagani, an Italian driver born in 1911, made one start in the inaugural World Championship season of 1950, driving a Maserati.

His appearance came at the age of 38, in the very first year of the championship, when Italian marques and their compatriot drivers filled much of the grid. Pagani scored no points from his single outing, which remained his only World Championship start.
