Lance Reventlow

Lance Reventlow, an American driver born in 1936, made three World Championship starts in the 1960 season. His appearances centred on the Scarab team, the American constructor with which his Formula 1 effort is associated, and Cooper-Climax machinery also features in his career record.

Aged 24 during his championship campaign, he scored no points and was not classified in the standings. Fielding an American-built car against the established European constructors at the close of the front-engined era proved an uphill task.

His World Championship involvement was confined to that single 1960 season, leaving a three-start record at the top level.
