Scarab

Scarab was an American constructor whose Formula 1 record stems from the Indianapolis 500, which counted towards the Drivers' World Championship from 1950 to 1960. Its cars contested the great American oval race in 1960, when the Brickyard sat on the championship calendar alongside the European road courses.

Its entries were part of the rich field of American oval specialists of the period, competing in a discipline largely separate from the European Grand Prix scene that made up the rest of the championship.

Drivers to appear for the team included Chuck Daigh, Richie Ginther and Lance Reventlow.

Scarab belongs to a fascinating and often overlooked chapter of Formula 1 history, the decade when the Indianapolis 500 formed part of the World Championship.
