Alfonso Thiele

Alfonso Thiele, an Italian driver born in 1920, made two Formula 1 World Championship starts at the turn of the 1960s. He debuted in 1960 with a Cooper-Maserati and appeared again in 1961 driving a Cooper-Climax.

Neither outing brought championship points, and his record stands at two starts across two consecutive seasons, both in Cooper chassis with different engines. He was already forty years old at the time of his debut, competing as the front-engined era gave way to the rear-engined revolution that Cooper had led.
