Emilio de Villota

Emilio de Villota, a Spanish driver born in 1946, made two Formula 1 World Championship starts, both in 1977 driving McLaren machinery. He was thirty at the time of his appearances.

Neither start brought championship points, and his Grand Prix record closed after that single season. He was among the few Spanish drivers to reach the World Championship during the 1970s, his two starts coming in privately run McLaren equipment rather than with the works team.
