Karl Wendlinger

Karl Wendlinger, an Austrian driver born in 1968, competed in Formula 1 from 1991 to 1995, recording 42 World Championship starts across five seasons. He debuted with Leyton House at 22, stayed as the team became March for 1992, and scored his first points that year, taking three to finish twelfth in the championship.

In 1993 he joined Sauber, where he spent the remainder of his career. His first season with the Swiss team was his best, seven points again bringing twelfth place in the standings. He added four points in 1994 for nineteenth in the championship.

His 1995 return with Sauber produced no points, and his Formula 1 career ended that year. Wendlinger's totals came to fourteen points from 42 starts, without a podium, pole or fastest lap.

Consistency in the midfield defined his record: he scored in three consecutive seasons from 1992 to 1994, with twelfth place in the championship marking his ceiling in both 1992 and 1993.
