About the Las Vegas Strip Circuit
The Las Vegas Strip Street Circuit became Formula 1's most audacious modern venture when it debuted in November 2023. Conceived and promoted directly by Liberty Media, F1's owner, the race sends cars thundering down the world-famous Las Vegas Boulevard, past the neon facades of the Bellagio, Caesars Palace and the Sphere, in front of a glittering nighttime crowd. It is less a traditional Grand Prix and more a Hollywood-scale spectacle, the centrepiece of F1's American ambitions.
This is not Las Vegas's first taste of Formula 1. The city hosted the Caesars Palace Grand Prix on a flat car-park circuit in 1981 and 1982, but that event was a commercial disappointment and quickly disappeared. The 2023 reinvention could hardly be more different: a layout of roughly 6.2 kilometres built around iconic public streets, run almost entirely after dark in the cold desert air, and bankrolled as a marquee showcase rather than a conventional race.
Max Verstappen won the inaugural 2023 event, a chaotic and entertaining race that defied early scepticism. George Russell took victory in 2024 before Verstappen returned to the top step in 2025. Despite a troubled build-up in its first year, the race has quickly established itself as a flagship date on the calendar.

Track Character
The circuit is defined by speed and long straights. A blast down the Strip itself lets cars approach 340 km/h before heavy braking zones, making it one of the lowest-downforce setups of the year and rewarding strong straight-line performance and slipstreaming. The cold desert night brings serious challenges for tyre temperature, with drivers struggling to keep rubber and brakes in their working window, producing graining, lock-ups and plentiful overtaking. Tight 90-degree street corners and unforgiving walls leave little margin for error, while the backdrop of casinos, hotels and the glowing Sphere gives the venue an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in motorsport.
