Stefan Bellof

Stefan Bellof, a German driver born in 1957, competed in Formula 1 in 1984 and 1985, making twenty-one starts for Tyrrell. He was around 26 years old when he made his debut with the British team.

His first season, 1984, yielded no championship points and no classification in the standings. The 1985 campaign went better: Bellof scored four points for Tyrrell and finished sixteenth in the Drivers' Championship.

In the mid-1980s Tyrrell was competing against increasingly dominant turbocharged opposition, and points finishes for the team were hard-earned. Bellof's four points in 1985 came in that context, against machinery with a significant performance advantage.

His Formula 1 record closed after those two seasons: twenty-one starts, four points, and a single team — Tyrrell — throughout his time in the championship.
