About Raul Boesel
Raul Boesel, a Brazilian driver born in 1957, competed in Formula 1 in 1982 and 1983, making twenty-three starts. He entered the championship with March at around 24 years of age before moving to Ligier for his second season.
Neither campaign produced championship points, and he went unclassified in the standings both years. The March team of 1982 was well past its competitive peak, and Ligier endured a difficult 1983, leaving Boesel little opportunity to score under the top-six points system.
The team switch after his rookie year represented a step toward a more established outfit, but results did not follow, and his Formula 1 career closed after two seasons.
Twenty-three starts without points nonetheless represented a substantial amount of Grand Prix experience, gathered during a period when Brazilian drivers were among the most prominent on the grid.
