Brendon Hartley

Brendon Hartley, a New Zealander born in 1989, raced in Formula 1 for Toro Rosso across the 2017 and 2018 seasons, accumulating 25 Grand Prix starts. He joined the championship late in the 2017 season at the age of twenty-seven.

His partial debut campaign brought no points and a classification of twenty-third in the standings, but a full season in 2018 produced four points and nineteenth place in the drivers' championship.

All of his starts came with the Faenza-based team, and his Formula 1 involvement ended after 2018 with a record of four points from 25 races. He is among the small number of New Zealand drivers to have reached the World Championship in the modern era.

Hartley's two-season spell is a compact one by contemporary standards, where points are awarded down to tenth place, making his modest tally a reflection of midfield-to-back-of-grid machinery rather than a lack of finishes.
