Bob Christie

Bob Christie, an American driver born in 1924, made five World Championship starts between 1956 and 1960, every one of them in a Kurtis Kraft. His appearances all came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960.

Christie contested the race in five consecutive championship seasons, a record of persistence among the American oval-racing entrants of the period, though none of his starts produced points or a championship classification.

When the Indianapolis 500 lost its championship status after 1960, careers such as his disappeared from the Formula 1 record books, leaving him with five starts and a place among the specialists whose paths crossed the World Championship only at the Speedway.
