About Yannick Dalmas

Yannick Dalmas, a French driver born in 1961, competed in Formula 1 across five seasons between 1987 and 1994, making twenty-four Grand Prix starts without scoring a World Championship point. His career unfolded almost entirely with small French teams, beginning with Larrousse, which he joined for his debut in 1987 at the age of twenty-six.

Dalmas spent three consecutive seasons with Larrousse from 1987 to 1989, a period in which the team's machinery kept him away from the points-paying positions. For 1990 he moved to AGS, another modest French outfit, but the change of team brought no improvement in his championship fortunes.

After the 1990 campaign Dalmas disappeared from the Formula 1 entry lists for three years. He returned for a final appearance in the World Championship in 1994, reuniting with Larrousse, the team with which he had started his career, before his Grand Prix record closed for good.

His final tally of twenty-four starts across five seasons without a point reflects the uncompetitive nature of the cars at his disposal rather than a lack of opportunity: at no stage of his Formula 1 career did Dalmas have access to front-running equipment.
