Jorge Daponte

Jorge Daponte, an Argentine driver born in 1923, made two World Championship Grand Prix starts in 1954, driving a Maserati. Entering Formula 1 at the age of thirty, he was one of the Argentine racers who appeared in the championship during the early years of the World Championship, when privately run Maseratis were a common sight on the grid. His two outings brought no championship points, and 1954 remained his only season at this level.
