Nyck de Vries

Nyck de Vries, a Dutch driver born in 1995, made eleven Formula 1 starts across the 2022 and 2023 seasons. His Grand Prix debut came in unusual circumstances: a one-off appearance for Williams in 2022, at the age of twenty-seven, in which he immediately scored two points and ended the year classified twenty-first in the championship.

That points-scoring debut earned him a full-time seat with AlphaTauri for 2023. The move, however, did not produce the results hoped for: his campaign with the Faenza-based team ended without a point, and he was classified twenty-second in the standings.

De Vries's AlphaTauri tenure lasted only part of the season, and his eleven career starts ended with the two points from that first Williams outing as his entire Formula 1 tally. He recorded no wins, podiums, poles or fastest laps in his time at the top level.

His brief Grand Prix spell is notable above all for its shape — a debut stronger than anything that followed — with the sole points finish of his career coming in the very first of his eleven starts, and his two full or partial seasons producing steadily diminishing returns thereafter.
