Oscar Gálvez

Oscar Gálvez, an Argentine driver born in 1913, made a single World Championship start, which came in the 1953 season at the wheel of a Maserati.

Unusually for a one-start career, it was a points-scoring one: Gálvez finished in the points on his only appearance, collecting two championship points and a classification of fifteenth in the 1953 drivers' standings. A points finish under the scoring system of the day meant a genuinely strong result, making his one-race Formula 1 record considerably more distinguished than most.
