Tony Gaze

Tony Gaze, an Australian born in 1920, made three World Championship starts during the 1952 season, all at the wheel of an HWM. He came to Formula 1 in his early thirties, in the formative years of the World Championship.

The British HWM cars of the period were modest performers, and Gaze's three outings brought no points; he was unclassified in the final standings. That single 1952 campaign constitutes the whole of his World Championship record, though as one of the few Australians racing in Europe at the time, his presence on the entry lists of the early 1950s was itself notable.
