HWM

HWM was a British constructor that competed in the Formula 1 World Championship between 1951 and 1954, taking part across 4 seasons during the formative first decade of the World Championship.

The team never won a race or finished on the podium, but it did score championship points during its time on the grid, a respectable return for a small operation competing against far better-resourced rivals.

Drivers to appear for the team included George Abecassis, Yves Cabantous and Johnny Claes among the 14 drivers who raced under the banner.

HWM represents the countless smaller teams and privateer entries whose participation, however brief, helped fill the grids and shape the character of Formula 1. Though it never reached the front, it remains part of the complete history of the World Championship.
