About George Connor

George Connor was an American driver born in 1906 whose three World Championship starts all came at the Indianapolis 500, the event that counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship between 1950 and 1960. He appeared in each of the championship's first three seasons, from 1950 to 1952.

His first two starts, in 1950 and 1951, came at the wheel of a Lesovsky, before he switched to a Kurtis Kraft for 1952. None of the three appearances yielded points, and he went unclassified in the standings each year.

Already in his mid-forties when the World Championship began, Connor belonged to the generation of American oval racers whose careers predated the championship era but who nonetheless earned a place in Formula 1's record books through Indianapolis.
