Walt Hansgen

Walt Hansgen, an American driver born in 1919, made four Formula 1 starts spread across the 1961, 1963 and 1964 seasons.

He first appeared in a Cooper-Climax in 1961, then returned two years later in Lotus-Climax machinery. His final season, 1964, brought his only points: two of them, enough for eighteenth place in the World Championship.

Hansgen was already in his forties throughout his brief Formula 1 involvement, and his points finish in 1964 stands as the highlight of a four-start career at the championship level.
