Gus Hutchison

Gus Hutchison, an American driver born in 1937, made a single World Championship start in 1970 at the wheel of a Brabham. Entering Formula 1 in his early thirties, he was one of a number of privateers who tried their hand at Grand Prix racing during that era without establishing a lasting foothold at the top level.

His lone appearance yielded no championship points, and the 1970 season remained his only involvement in the World Championship. His name nonetheless stands in the record books among the select group of American drivers to have started a Formula 1 Grand Prix.
