John James

John James, a British driver born in 1914, made a single World Championship start, in 1951, at the wheel of a Maserati. He was thirty-seven years old at the time of his one Grand Prix appearance.

Privately entered Maseratis were a common sight in the early years of the World Championship, and James's outing was one of many such efforts that came and went without points. His 1951 start remains the entirety of his Formula 1 record.
