Gerhard Mitter

Gerhard Mitter, a German driver born in 1935, made five Formula 1 starts between 1963 and 1965. His debut season with Porsche in 1963 proved his best: three championship points, good for twelfth in the final standings.

For 1964 and 1965 he switched to Lotus-Climax machinery, but neither season added to his tally, and he went unclassified in both years.

All of Mitter's points therefore came from that single Porsche campaign, and under the era's scoring system, in which only the top six finishers counted, three points in a season of limited outings was a respectable return.
