Brian Naylor

Brian Naylor, a British driver born in 1923, made eight Formula 1 starts across five consecutive seasons from 1957 to 1961. He began with Cooper machinery before spending his final three seasons, from 1959 onward, driving for the small JBW concern.

None of his eight starts produced a championship point, and he went unclassified in the standings every year — an outcome that says more about the privateer equipment at his disposal than about the length of his commitment.

Five seasons of persistence with modest machinery, culminating in three years with JBW, made Naylor a fixture among the British privateers who filled out Grand Prix entry lists at the turn of the 1960s.
