Lando Norris

Lando Norris is a British racing driver and reigning Formula 1 World Champion, having driven for McLaren throughout his entire grand prix career. Born in Bristol in 1999, he was a karting prodigy and Formula 3 European champion before finishing runner-up in Formula 2 in 2018. He stepped up to McLaren in 2019 and quickly grew into one of the most popular and consistent performers on the grid.

Norris built his reputation through the early 2020s with a string of podiums as McLaren rebuilt, finally taking his maiden win at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. As the team surged to the front he became a genuine title contender, and in 2025 he claimed the World Championship with seven victories, the crowning achievement of a partnership that has spanned his whole F1 life with McLaren.

In 2026 Norris remains at McLaren alongside team-mate Oscar Piastri, the pair renewing one of the closest rivalries in the sport. After eleven rounds the defending champion sits fifth on 133 points, having taken his and McLaren's first win of the season with a controlled drive at the Hungaroring in Round 11, ahead of Piastri as McLaren chase the front-running Mercedes and Ferrari squads.

Norris is a precise, quick and increasingly complete driver, strong in qualifying and adept at managing tyres over a race distance. Known as much for his openness and humour off track as his pace on it, he has become one of the sport's most marketable figures. With a championship secured and McLaren at the front, he is now established among the leading drivers of his generation.
