Luis Pérez-Sala

Luis Pérez-Sala is a Spanish driver who made twenty-six World Championship starts across the 1988 and 1989 seasons, both with Minardi. Born in 1959, he came to Formula 1 at twenty-eight and spent his entire Grand Prix career with the small Italian team.

His rookie season passed without a score, but in 1989 he claimed a single championship point — a genuinely hard-won result for Minardi under the scoring system of the day, when only the top six finishers were rewarded. It placed him twenty-eighth in the drivers' standings.

That solitary point stands as the sum of his Formula 1 return: two seasons, one team, twenty-six starts. His career ended after 1989, but the point he brought Minardi was the kind of result the team celebrated as a victory in all but name.
