About Bill Schindler

Bill Schindler was an American driver born in 1909 who made three World Championship starts between 1950 and 1952. His appearances came at the Indianapolis 500, which counted toward the Formula 1 World Championship from 1950 to 1960, making him one of the oval-racing regulars whose names entered the Grand Prix record books by that route.

He drove a different chassis each year — a Snowberger in 1950, a Kurtis Kraft in 1951 and a Stevens in 1952 — and was already in his early forties across those seasons. None of the three starts brought points, and his championship record ends with the 1952 appearance.
