Bernd Schneider

Bernd Schneider, a German driver born in 1964, competed in Formula 1 between 1988 and 1990, making nine World Championship starts across three seasons. He arrived in the category in his mid-twenties with the small German Zakspeed operation.

Schneider spent his first two campaigns, 1988 and 1989, with Zakspeed, a team that was firmly among the sport's backmarkers in that period. Neither season brought championship points, and he was never classified in the drivers' standings.

For 1990 he moved to Arrows, but the change of team did not alter his fortunes, and his third season likewise ended without a score. His Formula 1 record closed at nine starts, no points and no classified championship finish, a return that says more about the machinery available to him than it necessarily does about the driver.
