About Chico Serra

Chico Serra, a Brazilian driver born in 1957, competed in Formula 1 from 1981 to 1983, making nineteen World Championship starts across three seasons. He entered the category at twenty-four with the Fittipaldi team, the Brazilian constructor then in its final years.

His first season with Fittipaldi in 1981 passed without a score, but in 1982 he collected a championship point, which classified him twenty-sixth in the drivers' standings. Under the scoring system of the day, with points awarded only to the top six finishers, even a single point represented a solid achievement for a car at that end of the grid.

Serra switched to Arrows for 1983, but the move brought no further points and proved to be his final Formula 1 campaign. His career closed with one point from nineteen starts, earned entirely during that 1982 season with Fittipaldi.
